Did the price of oil/gas go up to consumers all over the world or just in the USA?

One would have to assume so given the global nature of the market for oil.

As for the value of the dollar, that certainly is a consideration.. Just as the value of the Euro has helped to mitigate the rise of energy in Europe.

But the ability to sell more US manufactured goods outside of the US also helps to mitigate the increase of fuel prices to an extent.

However, I just heard that oil prices are in decline based upon reports that there are more than adequate oil supplies.

However, given the explosion at one of the few US based refineries in Houston, may have a detrimental impact on fuel prices.

And that's one of the problems. We can have all the oil we want, but if we don't maintain our ability to refine it into useable fuel, we will still have a bottleneck in the national fuel infrastructure that keeps prices high.

And we haven't built a new refinery in the US in decades, and I believe we have taken several offline.
