The Kurzweil sounds are all sampled sounds, each of the 88 keys are sampled recordings of the actual note from a piano, and from different pianos, all velocity sensitive, and the keys are all weighted, so you feel like you're playing a piano... so I have a concert grand Steinway, and also a great honkey tonk piano, among others... one of the sounds is the sound of the felt hammer hitting the wire, so if I minimized the piano string sound, you can actually hear the thumping of the felt hammers...

The strings are all real samples, you can hear the vibrato in a quartet ensemble... you can play a single violin, or viola, or whatever, with adjustable vibrato speed and depth, even marchetto, you can even bend the note when you hit the note harder, just like a real violin would sound... much of the films in theaters today, as well as television films, are performed on this equipment... go to a top quality store that sells this equipment and try it out just to see what it can do... the human voices sing solo per key, so a chord would give you a great choir, men's women's, boy choir...

The guitars are also great, I have steel and nylon string, classical and jazz guitars in the Kurzweil... the guitars have release velocity also, so if you let go of the key too quickly, you get that sound of your finger rubbing along the fret just like a real guitar... and when it's all played on huge ElectroVox concert stage speakers, you really believe you're playing the actual instrument... I could ramble on about the Kurzweil, there's nothing like it... I have an orchestral ROM installed, it's really great fun, a composer's dream... you ought to treat yourself to this remarkable piece of musical technology...
