re: These are the people we are protecting from Saddam?

I am incensed. These were normal people, could be your next door neighbor, not even military. You got to say, "what the f-ck are we doing there". According to reports their bodies were burned, disemboweled, dragged through the streets and hung upside down from a bridge. There has to a huge amount of hate.

In the meantime we are spending $Billions to rebuild the country. And risking 100's of additional lives, everyday.

Eventually Iraq is 90% sure to revert to a fundamental Islamic government that will be hostile towards the US, with significant risk of ongoing civil war. And they will be far more internationally dangerous, and probably more repressive than the one we overthrew.

It's past time to get the hell out and let them determine their own future.

I agree.........I am incensed as well. Even if there are 'good' Iraqis, they are doing little to stop the violence. When they are not demonstrating, they are complaining that things are not moving forward fast enough.

I read another article today that was even more graphic than the one you posted ...talked about hanging burning arms from telephone poles and the like.

The only solace......albeit minor......was that these people were not American soldiers but Americans who voluntarily went to Iraq. They were not forced to be there. Nonetheless, its disgusting.

Send all the Illegals home too and let them fix up their own place?

I wonder whether today's events would have happened had we not turned tail and run in Somalia?
