I'll offer you one prediction. If we don't attempt it, rather instead turning tail and running, we're going to see the cost in dollars and American lives (and jobs) soar even higher in the future.

False Dichotomy


Blah, blah, blah... One more person who can't see the forest for the trees...

If we run from our obligations in Iraq now, it will be seen as a complete and utter defeat for any of the democratic and modernist goals we hope to instill in the people of that region..

The militants will tout that it was their superior tactics and strategies (suicide bombings) which has cause the US to retreat..

Thus, if they can make us retreat from there, they can use the same tactics to make us retreat elsewhere...

And when we finally find ourselves pressed so far that we have to respond with a nation-wide mobilization (suicide nuclear/biological attack against a US city) it will require a far greater military effort than we currently are displaying.

That's not false dichotomy. That's reality...

Regardless of which you prefer to believe.
