Bush lied about being fiscally responsible. In March 2001, Bush said: "And we can proceed with tax relief without fear of budget deficits, even if the economy softens. Projections for the surplus in my budget are cautious and conservative."

He didn't lie on this. Just like he received faulty intelligence on WMDs, someone gave him a faulty calculator. And I bekieve he is still using the same calculator for calculating the total number of jobs he will create by year end.
