<< CSCO, MSFT, INTC are fat, like IBM was when they where small. Why bother with them anymore, when the real money is some other small company with all it's growth ahead of itself? >>>

Right on, we are all gamblers today, remember the new lotteries and slots everywhere. Forget the big techs where maximum available growth has been computed and allowed for.

Brokers and retailers would be better investments than big techs.
Find a small cap stock where the future is unknown but looks good today. Where visions of sugarplums reside.
Take a risk

<<This brings me to my market mantra. It's going to be something that will change how we live, work and play. I have yet to find it though but I'm sure it is out there. I’m always looking for it. Thank the innovation gods for that. >>

Let us know when you find it ;>)

As for the big boys...no, they are not going to be leading the future, but are still good indicators and still solid stocks to hold for the long term.....Look at IBM 25 years ago. Still a great stock to own...nice and safe, and in todays world, you are correct in that people are always going to be looking for the next TASR..the next stock to skyrocket ungodly amounts...and stocks, as you said that will change the way we live....but people will always want some safety, and I think certain companies are safe for the long term...INTC may not be sexy, msft is rather boring...but I like owning both and hopefully will not be selling either for a long, long time....will they go up huge %'s each year? No, of course not....they are past their high growth phases...but I am happy hitting singles and doubles all day long, with a few occasion grand slams tossed in...better then striking out 3 out of every 4 at bats <g>
