Taiwan silicon supplier, Wafer Works, announced on March 30 that it will issue unsecured convertible bonds worth NT$200 million to finance equipment expansion at its Taiwan 6-inch wafer plant.

The company plans to increase monthly capacity by at least 30% to 250,000 6-inch equivalent wafers from the current 200,000 wafers. Wafer Works will start raising the necessary capital following approval from the Securities & Futures Commission (SFC).

Wafer Works declared revenues of NT$1.3 billion, after-tax profits of NT$230 million and NT$1.54 net earnings per share for 2003.
