We have the military capability to turn Afghanistan into a parking lot with intercontinental missiles -- but we don't do that.

The US hasn't done that, it will not do that, you wouldn't support it, and I wouldn't support it. Not much point in bringing it up unless you are saying that the actions is similar to firing a Hellfire in to a car occupied by an Al Qaeda or Hammas terrorist leader and that idea is nonsense.

But even if you could make a case that it is a question of which method would cost fewer innocent lives, the fact remains that to kill somebody who is available for capture is murder.

In a war, even a terrorist war killing an enemy that you theoretically could capture is not murder. Killing a surrendering enemy could be considered murder but Yassin wasn't surrendering.
