By the only realistic measure of a deficit, % of GDP, our deficit still threatens a ruinous deflation. The Clinton/Rubin deflation is not completely beaten yet, thanks to the lingering affects of BobDole's Disease in the Republican Senate caucus. A defeat of Arlen Specter in the PA primary on April 27 would go a long way toward the eradication of this plague in appeasement of the domestic enemy.

Maybe you are seeing a trillion?! Remember that Dumbya's fuzzy math doesn't include the cost of the misadventure in Iraq. Those numbers will come out after the elections. That will put us another 100 or 200 billion in the hole. And there's no end in sight.
