(Before they learned how to walk & speak and dress themselves of course ...and chip flints , make fire scribble in the sand. * One way of simply viewing evolutionary changes in ape to man , is to look not at cranium developement so much as the emphasis on the changes to the legs and the rising up to the upright position itself . From here the species adapts to see farther , look around at the surroundings more , travers wider ranges and migrations and this freeing up the hands more for tool making & creating Gods above and etc. From an evolutionary view , walking upright was the major change that evolved us further on our way, perhaps more than any other . ;-) PS: It could be argued from a Creationist POV , that if we are different enough , and all the species seem to be consistently similar within their groups to suggest they were all created at the same time...but if we were created in God's image and looking around createdsuch a mess of things ...then it would follow that this Abrahamic religion's God we were fashioned image from , was indeed quite a screw-up himself and needed to evolve a bit himself. I suppose when the Jewish messiah really arrrives on the scene , he or she will straighten all things out once and for all !
