Well, when you talk about IP, that's a different matter. Especially, when it comes to strategic or national security related IP. I would protect that with all the laws we can muster, even if the net wealth effect is negative for the U.S. As my old dad is fond of saying, be careful you don't teach the world to fish in such a way that they can take the fishing pole and beat you over the head with it. LOL. Seriously, though. Outsourcing the building of a website to India or China is no big deal. However, I'm dead against outsourcing the development of network security, encryption technology, missile guidance systems...well, you get the idea.
