Personally, I think the insanity defense for murder is a little strange. I think blowing oneself up in a crowd full of people is rather insane. Does that mean suicide bombers can use the insanity defense?

I think the important thing to note is that both this mother and the suicide bombers use God as their explanation for why they commit murder.
