Agreed, in general. I was thinking of the Auto Union issue I mentioned earlier. When an American automaker start-up was competing and growing well in America as a non-union shop, the Unions took em to court and won (Union Scale had to be paid. As a result they could no longer compete with the big three and had to shut down). Folks like Ray need to think about the consequences of such realities, if they still feel freedom doesn't really work. We almost certainly never would have been limited to three American manufacturers if not for such rulings along the way (any rulings made to "protect" big three labor from competition). I think it likely that without such rulings, Americans would have been buying higher quality and better suited cars, much sooner in our history.
