"Hey, you there! Yeah, you two! Move along! You're causing a freeway traffic jam!", yelled the motorcycle cop over the roar of his modified Harley. He had pulled off to the side of the freeway into the emergency lane. Muffy sighed ... "Oh, dear. Here we go again. Just when I think there's going to be a romantic interlude in my life, some boistrous authority figure screws it up." Her recently met gentleman companion gestured towards the motorcycle cop. Muffy didn't see exactly which gesture it was, but she thought he might have meant "we'll be gone in one minute". Or, something similar. It was certainly an emphatic gesture, whatever it was, because Muffy could see the determination in his eyes. Or, was that a mean glare? At any rate, the cop didn't seem too pleased with the gentleman's response. Maybe he wanted them out of there sooner? As the cop dismounted from his bike, he muttered to himself, "Oh, great ... I thought I'd make it through an entire April Fool's day without running into any off-the-wall characters. So much for that pipe dream. Here's a woman putting duct tape on her face, and she's with her idiot male friend who is dumb enough to flip off a cop. Sheesh! Where do these people come from? Wait 'til they hear this one down at the precinct."
