I've been in the three percent. I never felt overly burdened. Never felt rich, either, overly or otherwise. <g>

When you look at it from a distance, it does seem unreasonable that one percent of the population should pay a third of the taxes. Twenty percent, maybe, but a third seems like a lot. It also seems unreasonable that half of the population pays little or no taxes. I think that everyone should pay some taxes as a rite of citizenship, although I recognize the impracticality of that.

Also think there should a whole lot less federal government to support.
