It's a completely different mentality, one far more violent than our own, and I can't give these people the benefit of the doubt. The "civilized world" is far from perfect, but it's nothing like this... Z, It would be easy to agree with you; however, just today I posted an article about a woman who stoned her three children to death because God told her to do it; and then there were the two white guys two years ago who ripped the arm off a black guy and then dragged him behind their truck until he was dead; or what about the guy in Wyoming who was crucified by two guys because he was gay. A few years ago some guy went around the South burning down black churches. And just 50 years ago a German murdered 6 million Jews. And then there were the lynchings of blacks in the early part of the 20th century in this country. And just one year ago we bombed the hell out of Iraq......more than 10k Iraqis died during that attack. I don't think wanton destruction and cruelty is the province of the Iraqis or Muslims........it seems to be part of the human condition. The only thing I am angry about is that we walked right into this mess with our eyes open thanks to the less than stellar leadership in DC. Had we minded our own business and done what needed to be do in terms of protecting this country from terrorism, this would not be happening. Violence begets violence. That's one of the reasons I was opposed to the war. Well, now, we are reaping what was sowed back then.........or did you think there would be no downside to shock and awe. ted
