Your resolution setting is the problem.

Your monitor's native resolution is 1280x1024. You should run it at it's native resolution. You are going to get fuzzy results at any other resolution, as the monitor has to scale the output from your video card, and, unfortunately, will do the scaling in a rather crude fashion. (And even the best scaling algorithms are inferior to using unscaled fonts.)

If the fonts are uncomfortably small at 1280x1024, then you can either change the size of the system font, or change the display DPI setting. (I recommend the latter, as it makes a lot more adjustments than just the system font size.)
