The fact that a rummy or a wolfy or a cheney needs to be fired would be a good first step.

Bush is a loyal friend. Don't expect him to do so. Except for Powell, who might resign because of illness and family considerations, I see no big cabinet shake-ups on the way.

It's just the way W is. Clinton or Kerry would have been slicing and dicing like madmen under the same circumstances.

I think a terrorist attack would confirm people in their pre-existing beliefs. Democrats would still vote Democrat; Republicans Republican. But swing voters would swing more to Bush; I think American instinct under attack is to fight back.
