One shouldn't make too much about letters to the editor, for there is a strong selection effect, but I found this one interesting in a conservative region of the country.

The message being sent

Let's see now if I've gotten it right. Condoleezza Rice may now testify before the 9-11 Commission, in public and under oath, after months of refusals from the White House citing "confidentiality."

In exchange for this magnanimous gesture, President Bush will testify before this same commission, but only under the following conditions: His testimony will not be public, his testimony will not be under oath and his testimony will be in tandem with Vice President Cheney. Can the savvy White House PR people (Karl Rove, Karen Hughes, et al.) not see the message being sent to the long-suffering electorate regarding the issues of openness, truthfulness and competency?

On that? That says what it says. Evil Vermin has been trolling for fish forever. The only ones he's caught have been gung ho liberals. Remember the late unlamented rich4eagle? He was one of them.
