Well... it's hard to argue against a hypothetical, but the cold hard evidence of the past 1/2 century gives the lie to the proposition that Republicans - in general - are better for the economy then Democrats.

There is also particularly good evidence that the 'best of all worlds' (from the point-of-view of the average citizen) is *divided government*.
