Well, Kerry lives in a fantasy world if he thinks companies will sit idle and allow their foreign earnings to be double taxed. What Kerry will have to do is erect severe protectionism, and that ultimately will result in a net harm to the American economy. What Kerry is trying to do is foment a war between classes. He may gain a personal short-term benefit in the polls because of the tactic. It may even help get him in office. But if he implements it, Americans will incur a tremendous long-term loss. It is becoming ever less enticing to locate business in America and more enticing to locate elsewhere. The solution is to make America business friendly, cutting government spending severely and lowering the real cost, economic and regulatory, of hanging a shingle.

It ain't gonna happen, but it is what needs to happen.
