So which is it? Was Saddam's dynasty going to last forever unless we invaded or was he on the way out?

I'm going from what David Kay reported about what he was discovering from his interviews after the war..

The fact that scientists, personally paid by Saddam to R&D WMDs had the cajones to embezzle his money, is indicative that the Tikriti clan was on the way out..

But from the perspective of 2002, and given what was displayed over the past 12 years, it sure as hell seemed that his sons might have the ability to take over...

And maybe they would have succeeded, after a lot of bloodshed..

But the degree of Islamic resistance we've seen (suicide bombings.. etc) indicate that the militants had their own plans for who would take over after Saddam left power.

Like I've said before, the reason you could tell that the Communists were divorced from reality is that their stories kept changing.

You want reality? Tell me how the belief that one can collect 72 virgins for sacrificing oneself in a suicide bombing came to be, or how you propose we deal with it.

And what are you going to do when you discover a new reality of one of them packing a WMD into one of our cities?
