Doug,

that is good news, especially as the part is an "AX" (not an "AR"), which implies it is a true Newcastle (DH7-CG), not a half-cache bad/disabled part.

The first and only appearances of CG stepping (both DH and SH) are at 2.4 GHz. It may not be representative of the entire output, but it is a promissing hint on where the bin splits may be.

Now that CG stepping and Newcastle are "in the bag", the upcoming events / milestones are Opteron x50 (hopefully in April), Socket 939 chips in May, first 90nm wafer outs in July.
