All true, but not new. Coke costs less to make in Thailand, too.

I really think 9/11 scared a lot of people who are suddenly afraid that the US can't compete any longer.

VC-Backed Startups Raise $4.6B in First Quarter

With the IPO window opening up and the economy improving, the first quarter saw an increase in venture capital investing with 417 deals completed totaling $4.6 billion, according to preliminary VentureWire figures. Q1 investing was up a bit from Q4 2003 when 446 private companies raised $4.1 billion. The first quarter of 2003 saw 432 deals raise $4 billion.
