Well if they went along with sending our soldiers to war for "political" reasons, we need to clean house on the whole corrupt bunch of them and find men and women who place principles above politics.

By the way, don't underestimate the value of permanent and well-manned military bases in the heart of the Middle East. Whether we can keep them there is another issue but as long as we create a puppet government in Iraq that needs our military support, or create a contractual agreement with a puppet Iraqi government that we can wave to the rest of the world, we may be able to keep our sword poised over all that oil land.

We do not, of course, need to "own" the oil, all we need is to be able to "control" our access to it. Did you know that in the "oil crisis" of the 1970s there was serious consideration for military invasion and a taking control of the Arab oil fields? What does that tell you?

hindsight is a wonderful thing, it allows us all to draw conclusions on the actions of those responsible for committing those actions, or inactions in the case of Clinton, Kennedy, Kerry, it really is not just to those individuals with the balls to make the big decisions.

terrorism is a very evil, very destructive, very real threat to all peace loving and progressive societies it is not new and or beholden to Bush & Cheney...

the most overt and graphic example was in Beirut during the Reagan Presidency...

the bottom line is the same now as it was then, we have to kill the MFers before they kill us...the only serious action taken since Ronnie pulled us out of Lebanon instead of striking back has been by G Bush and Dick Cheney...

you can look back at the actions of others and critize all you want but they at least are fighting terrorism...while Kerry is.. ummmm lets see...snowboarding... windsurfing...lying about his Vietnam activities....and on and on....

I suspect that redfish is a lot like canyondweller inasmuch as they are both conservative right wingers dressed in liberal clothing trying to pull a fast one on all of us...ehhhh
