Doug,

Regarding 1 GHz HT and HT 2.0, what I am wondering about is since it needs reworking HT part of the chip, I was wondering if this will not be 90nm only thing, meaning what if the May 25 release of Socket 939 is actually first 90nm parts?

If they launch Socket 939 with FX only parts initially, all they need is some 10,000 parts for launch. It does not take a lot of wafers to make 10,000 90nm parts. 100 wafers, and even that is assuming bad yields.

Otherwise, I see too many changes, too many steppings. Does CG stepping support HT 2.0? I doubt it. HT 2.0 is not just a clock speed increase, but the specss for senders and receivers are changed. If CG does not support HT 2.0, does it make sense to come out with yet another 130nm stepping that does support HT 2.0?

I doubt it. It would make much more sense to me for HT 2.0 to be 90nm only, and for Socket 939 to be a low volume 90nm launch.
