Right-o, why doesn't the public react to these obvious lies and dirty dealings? 911 and the resulting hyper nationalism and fear really shows how easily people turn into an unthinking, emotional, easily manipulated mob. Is it any wonder how fascism arose in Europe? Is it any wonder how McCarthy took hold here? We're so prone to scary behavior that it's positively frightening. Without freedom of speech, freedom of the net and of the airwaves, we'd be done.
