Bahrain Grand Prix is a Royal Gathering

Saturday April 3rd, 2004

The Middle East's first Formula One Grand Prix promises to be a right royal gathering, with kings and princes arriving in Bahrain for Sunday's race.

King Juan Carlos of Spain visited the new Sakhir circuit on Saturday while Britain's Prince Andrew arrived in the Gulf kingdom earlier in the week.

Organisers said the list of royalty expected to attend as guests of the king of Bahrain, Sheikh Hamad bin Isa al Khalifa, included King Abdullah of Jordan, the Sultan of Brunei, Prince Albert of Monaco and Prince Hans-Adam of Liechtenstein.
