OK, I see your bias. Forgiveness has no place in it, does it? Let's perpetuate conflict by assuming that the big bad American has nothing but selfish motives and no purpose but aggression. You would probably say Zimbabwe Rhodesia is better off having thrown out colonialists. The people there are suffering immeasurably by the atrocities committed by their liberators.

I think we have learned a great deal, but we are not omnipotent. Things have not changed all that much. Who burned out the Anasazi in our own Southwest, for example? It's not know for certain, but certainly it was done by people who had unbridled power and no underlying principles of freedom and justice like The United States of America. You over simplify, and you condemn an imaginary demon.

Because the U.S. has learned nothing from our previous Wars Of Aggression in the 3d World, we are repeating the same mistakes.
