<How can you indulge yourself in such asinine generalizations?>

To provoke racists like Yiwu! And taunt the thieves who would attempt to steal the riches of Taiwan. To provoke those who run kleptocratic tribal dominance hierarchies. It's a lot of fun.

Anyway, it's not an asinine generalization to make cultural comparisons.

You must have noticed the Americans were included too in the 'grab, lie and take' category [with respect to Iraq]. But hey, I'm not racist, some of my best friends are Americans and I firmly believe that they, along with women, should be treated as human. So should Chinese [the honest ones anyway], including Chinese women. I'm not sure that Yiwu is human and she certainly hasn't read any of "On Liberty" or attended any Libertarian conventions.

But seriously, you must understand that not all cultures are equal. For example, check out the gunshot murder rate in Japan and compare it with the USA. It's not a wild generalization to call Americans a pack of trigger happy waco gun nut murderers. That doesn't mean there isn't somebody in the USA who isn't an insane MAD NRA waco.

Come on, take me off ignore!

Mqurice

PS: Some of my best friends are Canadians and they are okay too. Heck, my own son is Canadian. Can one be racist against oneself? I suppose there's some psycho jargon such as low self-esteem, or self-denial or something to cover the issue.

For MQ there's no honest person in China, and there are only thugs in Brazil. I don't try to educate him because he's a lost case.

All the good people are in Canada and New Zealand. Having lived in Canada, a country with a similar outlook as NZ he can relate only those two countries. It failed to grasp the whole world.
Look to his son, instead of going to the real world and face it, he is there where the spot is soft, perhaps influenced by his father.

Lets keep them that way.
