The problem with this is: Will they leave us alone?

The answer is No. They won't leave us alone - because doing so would be against the way they interpret the will of God. Jacob, with all respect, seems to have difficulties grasping the nature of their religious sentiment. Doing what they see as God's will is more important to them than staying alive. It is a tough opposition to deal with, because they think not in rational terms, but rather in religious concepts which allow no compromise at all. None whatsoever. As per Qutb (paraphrased (?) from memory) - "If anyone walks along but one step with a man who lives in a state of Jahiliyya, he himself becomes hopelessly immersed in that state".

<The problem with this is: Will they leave us alone?>

The historical record is clear. Beginning when Jefferson was President, the U.S. has been making armed incursions onto the soil of Muslim nations. Here's the list, and it's a long one: Message 19396785

By contrast, how many times have Muslim nations sent soldiers onto our soil? 9/11 is the single example.

Seems like this is an example of the pot calling the kettle black.
