True, the 2 Americas (the very rich and everyone else) are diverging much faster now than ever before in American history. Banana Republicanism.

True capitalism hasn't existed in America for decades. The party of suppossedly pure capitalism (Republicans) have become very comfortable expanding the scope and size of government and feeding off the ever increasing federal deficit (certainly a form of socialism if there ever was one). Our "free market" economy is so distorted by government infusion of cash that it's a joke. Do you know how many businesses would go belly up in America if the federal government suddenly starting spending money rationally and wasn't in the business of ever increasing pork barrel spending? It's not just government cash that is distorting our economy, it's government regulation too. Competitive feedstocks like hemp are banned from competing in our "free market", and alternative technologies (from medicine to energy) have to overcome all sorts of government red tape and interference before they can enter the marketplace.
