Kerry believed it, and others in the Congress believed it because Bush and Cheney were relentless in characterizing intelligence that was mostly ambivalent and largely unverified as matter of fact. They stated that, "We know where the WMD are".

Bush took the country to war in Iraq over WMD that nobody can find. Further he diverted resources from the war in Afghanistan against Al Qaeda to do it. I think that was a mistake as well.

If there were WMD, sure I'd like to know what happened to them.

Every major country on earth has WMD's. Mostly the US.
The whole excuse for war was a big fat lie. Makes me sick. 9 more US soldiers died today for Bush's lie.
