McNamara was wrong. We COULD afford to fail in Vietnam. Ironically as it turned out, the sooner we failed the better. The years between 1969 and 1973 were horrendous. That war should have ended before that and never should have been escalated a la Bectel and Halliburton. There was no end game and no rational point to it.

Now I hear OPEC is punishing us for going into Iraq. And the Saudis are probably funding more terrorism with our money. Gotta get off the stuff. Kerry can make it happen if we all work together.
