My dad tells the story of being a teenager and, after having dropped a date at her home in Sunnyvale, had to walk home to Willow Glen in San Jose when his car broke down. He walked all night through orchards. Today, you can't go a 1/4 mile in any direction and not run smack dab into a 7/11... Today, we grow a different crop, one that doesn't grow anywhere else. Other regions and countries have tried to copy the formula, but this soil seems to still be the only place that crop thrives.
