Fox, I made a few inquiries to people I know who hold shares outside of Canada - not necessarily Dimethaid shares.

The response: they can't be voted. Some seem to think that the company itself can elect to make the shares votable, while others say it's a question of securities regulation.

So, there doesn't seem to be any agreed answer. Myself, I don't know. Judging by the experiences of others, my guess is that you won't be able to vote offshore shares.

Perhaps there's someone out there who has knowledge of these things. If anyone is reading this thread, any more.
