Of course, as with all murders, this depends upon the circumstances surrounding abortion murder. That the child is inside the mother and that the mother may suffer external pressures that put her under duress, may be extenuating circumstances that disallow a death sentence. In other, rarer and more ghastly cases, the death penalty may be in order. In typical abortion it is not the mother who should receive the brunt of the penalty, since in many cases she is a victim along with her child. She should be punished, to be sure; but her punishment should be rehabilitative. The abortionist should receive the death penalty, since, like a hit-man, the principle of humanity means so little to him he can actually murder children in cold blood-- for cash.
