Why do you people want to steal money from folks, even if they are 'rich'?

I am sorry, but I dont agree with you. YOu are listening to that typical democrapic dogma, which is false and unamerican. First off, we had a TAX RATE CUT. That means if you paid taxes you got a reduction. The rich pay more taxes so they got a bigger $$ REDUCTION BUT, are you aware that the total PERCENTAGE of taxes paid by income element has now actually GONE UP for those earning over 200k a year. Ie they are carrying a larger percentage of the tax load then before.
No government ever IMPROVED by RAISING TAXES. IMPROVEMENTS come from INDUSTRY not from Govt. ALL GOVT DOES is shuffle paper around and move money from one pocket to another. Until every American realizes that this country can never be as great as its potential.
As to Clinton, he lucked out in two ways. He entered the Presidency at the beginning of an economic cycle uptick and he benefitted from the incredible increase in business due to the y2k SCARE. How many software programmers and all are on this thread that got a new contract WITH SIGNING BONUS every 6 mos. Is that insane or not? Be honest!! jdn
