The rightwing demonizes France in particular, then Germany and Russia. This is very counter-productive. Just to wage Bush's Iraq war we have alienated three of our most important allies, plus the entire UN. As a result Putin is now developing a new nuclear arsenal and the dollar has plummeted 35%. Likely we're not getting much cooperation on important issues when we need it, including counter-terror intel trading. It's almost as if the Bushies WANT more war to justify their big defense spending and scare us into electing them. defense is the only issue the rightwing usually wins over moderates or progressives. Of course Kerry could change that, especially when he picks a strong moderate as his running mate.
