Chuck, what do you care about Kerry's service in Vietnam? Wasn't it enough for you that he was willing to stand in front of bullets and face the very immediate and real threat of severe injury or death? Why do you have to tear his service down?

Do you know how many of our citizens have actually seen combat? Are you aware that only a small percentage of our soldiers in the army even merit the receipt of a combat infantryman's badge?

Kerry earned the respect of his OWN men. That says more than anything you or I could say about his service.

Yet you insist on denigrating his medals and his purple hearts. What information do you have that would support even a hint of disdain for his service? There are a lot of us packing wounds that have healed over and left us without disabilities and some of us that are disabled from wounds that never broke the skin. A purple heart is simply awarded for an injury received from enemy action, no matter that it's not a serious wound. It's awarded through the report of the medic. Who are you to judge us and why is it so important to you that you destroy Kerry's honorable service record?

These aren't frivolous questions. I respect your thinking ability and I really would like to know what's driving your attacks on Kerry's service record. Ed
