Al Sharpton gets my vote for best makeover of the new century. He's gone from those velour jumpsuits and gold chains to looking like a conservative grandfather. He's gone from sounding like a radical self-aggrandizing hack to someone who would make a better President than Shrubbery. Oh heck, he's gotten a far better makeover than Schwarzenegger who still looks and sounds like a self-aggrandizing nazi-loving hack.

Who says there aren't any second acts in American life? There are second, third, fourth and as many acts as there are makeover options.
