Thanks for posting this.

It seems weird to me that Comcast incurs the cost of the cable guy installing. I am surprised they cannot just ship out the STB/Harddrive with instructions and then provide support. I have personally found the cable modem support from Comcast to be first-rate.

For those of us less initiated, what is the "blue guide"?

Questions:

1. Is this the new DVR service that Comcast hopes to launch w/in the year?

2. What is the minimum DIGITAL service package you have to buy from Comcast?

3. Does downloading all that stuff slow your Internet connection speed on a cable modem?

4. What are the restrictions on what you can record

5. Can you skip over commercials?

6. Why in the world does Kentucky get this before the Seattle area?

Cip,

SO far its pretty cool, I have not used a Tivo so my expectations were not real high.....

The irony here is that you'll be seeing some TiVo promotions on the guide. While looking around for that 'missing link' I discovered that TiVo was granted promotional ads on TV Guide Interactive as part of the licensing deal. The amount, duration and most details were left out. Since Gemstar has so much undeveloped real estate at this time it seems like a good bartering use.

In Time Warner country here so have never been able to test drive save for the interactive demo on the website. Did you initiate this advanced box (by service upgrade, etc) or is Comcast rolling it out to all digital subscribers in that area?
