I suppose if you asked my husband or sons they'd say they belong to the NRA for political reasons, but from my perspective the practical reasons are more important. They have a very nice firing range, which only members and guests can use, and the boys love to shoot for target practice. It's cheaper if you're a member.

Nick actually is the one who likes to shoot the most, and these days he's crazy about shooting skeet - the "sport of kings" - which you can't do at an indoor range so they use the county range more often than the indoor NRA range these days.

Funny how what used to be simple personal preferences - smoking or non-smoking, what kind of car you drive, whether you shoot skeet for a hobby - have become so politicized.
