tom, You seem to fit the category of those who haven't read history are condemned to repeat it. You may find that my disdain and dismissal of the dastardly denizens of an SUV in Fallujah to be distasteful. But that's merely because you are thinking tribally if you are thinking at all. Remember the battle cry in Viet Nam -- "We must destroy the village to save it"? We are once again engaging in this silly game, and the bastards who are getting rich selling the ammo, concertina wire, and "contractors" to the foolish and ignorant American taxpayer are laughing all the way to the bank. If you don't understand that war is just a racket, you don't understand anything.
