"As we discussed before, the first step is to have an open and honest discussion about SS. SS is not in any immediate danger (except from the huge deficits under the current fiscal policy). I would like to see a discussion of the purpose for SS, and the structure of the tax code in general." Amen - and we need similar discussions on health care, energy, education, immigration, tort etc. Unfortunately a polarized election year will see nothing that resembles an honest debate. The tone of the this board is proof that such discussion is impossible. The liberal use of the word liar is an automatic turnoff. So - we will have confrontation. I will buy energy and metals stocks.
