RSS stands for 'really simple syndication' or 'rich site summary'. An RSS aggregator is an application that goes out and grabs all the new stuff on websites that you've told it you're interested in. Most weblogs have RSS feeds (written in XML format)... many news websites are bringing them online.

So then, what it allows you to do is to cover more ground in a shorter time span. I am using RSS Bandit, which is a free download. rssbandit.org There are also web-based aggregators. bloglines.com

Computerworld feed archive: computerworld.com
right click on link, then copy shortcut into feed aggregator. App will then update w/ all the new computerworld stories at regularly scheduled intervals.
NY Times feed archive: partners.userland.com
Business RSS feeds: e-mastertrade.com
Amazon syndications: amazon.com feed gives you top 10 selling products in given category
Topix: topix.net put your zipcode in search bar and get a URL for an RSS feed that is specific to what's going on in your locality. Or get news related to all kinds of other keywords.
Generate RSS Feeds for Basic eBay Search: ebaygeeks.com

How To Speed-Read the Net ; Ditch your browser—RSS makes surfing for news a joy: slate.msn.com
