Not the democrats in Congress who voted against the war. 23 senators and 123 from the house voted against the war. Just our luck, we are running a senator who voted in favor ot it.

cnyndwllr. Interesting post. Don't know if you are democrat but if so you are the only one who makes any sense on this thread. You actually got things to say and interesting ideas. You said...." Where are all the Iraqi Paul Reveres. Why aren't the Iraqi revolutionaries out there pledging "give me liberty or give me death?" Why aren't the Iraqi police willing to shoot and kill the evil, minority, radical Iraqis who "hate freedom and want to enslave Iraqis?" Why aren't the Iraqi clerics and civic leaders condemning the wholesale killing and resistance to American occupation forces? Why in the hell doesn't the official bullshit American spin from either party make any sense in terms of what we see HAPPENING in Iraq.'... I know this is not a popular idea but IMO we ...the civilized world...are at war with a 1500 year old culture that has not advanced with the times as other cultures have. Islam is the problem. That's not to say that all muslims are nutbars but a good portion of them are. This islam culture appears to me to glorify death and when they can't find an infidel to kill they will find some reason or other to kill each other. This has been going on for hundreds of years and anyone who thinks it can be changed in a couple of years IMO is badly mistaken. I also feel the loss of innocent lives in Iraq could well be for not. I think it may be almost impossible to prevent civil war in Iraq between different islam sects. One only needs to think about the mutilation of those people murdered a few days ago to understand that these people/culture/islam is not anything like us. While we strive to protect innocent lives they the radical islam strive to murder innocent lives. You said...." So get the hell away from them and let them find an equilibrium that fits THEIR ideas.'.... You may be right. but we must make very sure they do not have anything in the line of WMD that they could us on us.... And they would if they could.
