Slightly off topic but I thought I'd repost something I put on the George W Bush thread in response to a God and patriotic fervor post. (Didn't go over to well) "So dude, Am I getting you that we are in Iraq to bring them to the light of God? My, my, my. Its funny how our way of doing that inflames people to kill Americans and desecrate their bodies. Hum, maybe our approach needs a little polishing. I guess the reason that we are there is that all these Muslims need to be rescued so they won't burn in Hell because they aren't Chistians? Is that the essential problem? If that's the problem I can definitely see why its a problem. My only question is this: it seems to me that no matter how hard you try you will never be able to expose EVERY SINGLE PERSON in the world to Christianity. So the essential question is then - does that mean that some poor Budhist bugger in Mongolia is going to hell because he never was exposed to Christianity by a Western Missionary? Jeez, that's really sad. Through no fault of his own this poor bugger is going to burn in hell for eternity. He just never happened to be in proximity to a Christian during his life. Hum, do you think there may be other poor buggers in other parts of the world that are also going to suffer in hell for eternity for the same reason? Jeez, that's really sad. I guess some poor buggers just were destined to have an empty life and then suffer in hell for the rest of eternity. Oh well, that's just the way it goes I guess. Its not Gods fault. That poor bugger just shouldn't have been born in that part of the world. It was his own fault. I'm getting confused. Are we talking about fundamental Christianity or fundamental Islam,here. They seem so alike. " Eric

Your preoccupation with Bush is interesting; we all agree that we are really dealing here with forces that are hell bent to turn this mother earth into most inhospitable terrain. I don’t think that any action short of hot pursuit will sustain the challenges posted by the terrorists groups. If the policy that was adopted is not pursued countries like Jordan will not have shown determination to apprehend and catch its own people for actions against innocent human beings, history is a difficult subject and application of history to events so that a coherent course of action can be adopted even more difficult. Appeasement of bloodsuckers is an old road well known to liberals it is on these avenues that many a totalitarians have been bred and raised; it is the protective environment to look the other way that fashioned the hardened mentality of extremists to remove any government that teaches freedom and coexistence of humanity. We are seeing here lessons from history being applied as challenges are evolving. For hundreds of years British garrisons and other invaders never dared to move in to hinterlands like Wana, these had become sanctuaries for global extremists, it is not fault of any nation that ends up with wrong side of geography like we did, we ended up owning lands that were never ruled by anyone, these are lands that are mix of ideology and ‘mongoloid determination,’ to clear these areas long forgotten and long overlooked from inherent violence is the challenge that humanity faces today. We are collective victims of atrocities. Renaissance was associated with lot of violence and internecine feuds, the saving grace was the distance and lack of connectivity events of Florence had lesser impact on Rome since time lag healed a lot of pain, here events in Palestine within same time span has far greater impact on as distant a city as NY as we see things unfolding the way only God could have in earlier renaissance. New enlightenment and dawning of age of understanding has imposed extra ordinary challenges and strain on our minds, those who missed out on earlier reawakening are now finding it to difficult to raise to new connected world, they want to drag the world back to the medieval age, now the war of ideas has only been won by edge of knowledge, here in this age of knowledge the vandals appear on the scene as new Changizs, either we allow them to butcher us or we save societies to become hostage to their carnages. Now that the distance is dead and events are seen in real time our incapability to understand the dynamics of new wave of renaissance is the handicap that a liberal mind like yours is entrapped in. I have my greatest of sympathies and as a great lover of mankind can see where you come from, however your point intellectually is very inferior when a mind as fertile as yours engages in denouncing Bush as an evil and rather keeping quiet about the real evil that is the ideological threat to our freedoms. For me I need a an icon of age of knowledge, may be you don’t get it but for me anyone who challenges these vandals who wants to drag me to age of darkens is that icon, I see evil and benefactor with greatest of clarity, your mindset is little confused, you are mixing your political affiliations with your choices, I don’t do that my political affiliations are little distant from war that presently is going on, any relenting will cause incalculable damage.
