That's really interesting. I sort of said the two religions were alike in a rhetorical way but there really ARE similarities if even the Virgin Mary is in the Quran.

I often think that the biggest enmities occur between people with the closest relations and similarities. What happens is that if one has a quality one dislikes in oneself then looking at a brother who has some of those same qualities is like looking at a mirror - and seeing all the warts. From a psychological point of view one has an irresistible urge to disassociate oneself completely from that person. The truth is just too uncomfortable. It happens in families and unfortunately it happens in nations. That's why murders most often happen within families.
