You expect these countries to make a firm offer without anything being offered in return? Amazing. I've been involved in several successful negotiations throughout my business career, and I've never seen anything like what you suggest.

I stand by my original post as a viable option.

What is your suggestion on extricating ourselves from Iraq?

The Kerry Plan for Iraq remains the only viable alternative. France has once again offered to send troops if the US follows the Kerry Plan:

'On CBS' "Face the Nation," Biden said French President Jacques Chirac has told him that France would send troops as part of a NATO (news - web sites) contingent, as long as the United States had relinquished control to an international body, such as the United Nations (news - web sites).'
